WE'RE NOT TRUST FUND BABIES—

NONE OF US ARRIVED WITH A PIED-A-TERRE WAITING IN THE MARAIS.

Our Story

We've been where you are: traversing French bureaucracy, searching for jobs and friends—wondering how to turn Paris from a postcard into a real life.

We've dodged pickpockets, rerouted metro rides, mastered the dairy aisle, and know which arrondissement fits your vibe. After years of integrating into this famously complex city, we’ve built deep ties—and now, we’re here to help you do the same.

Our

Name

Before it meant influencer or party girl, a socialite was the one who could open doors, make introductions, and guide you into the heart of the city. They were your key to getting in.

Our name is a nod to that: The Poor Socialites who aim to share with you the resources to live rich lives in Paris, even on a budget.

Our

Team

There's plenty of info out there (some good, some... not). That's where we come in.

We're not lifestyle influencers selling a curated dream, or a relocation agency that vanishes after your visa. We’re here for your integration— neighborhood discoveries, admin hacks, & emotional support— Because every expat deserves a warm welcome.

Meet our team below!

Kendall

FOUNDER

With over a decade of international experience and six years in France, Kendall knows what it takes to build a life abroad—and how isolating it can feel without the right support.

Her background spans communications, coaching, and cross-cultural transitions across France, India, Thailand, and Bolivia. Kendall founded The Poor Socialite to offer the kind of practical help and community connection she wishes she had when starting out.

She said

“Settling into Paris isn’t just about bureaucracy—it’s about building a sense of belonging in an unfamiliar place.”

Love Notes from our clients

Molly O, Parisian since Mar 2024

"When I moved here, it felt like a movie, but after the honeymoon period, I felt really alone. No matter how many events I went to, I was struggling to connect, and no matter how much research I did, I felt like I was always behind on paperwork, like everyone else knew something I didn't.

Finding this team was a game-changer."
